Our Ministries

Faith in Action and Faith in Fun are ways that we honor God, our community and our world.

With this in mind, we spend time praying and playing.

Altar Guild

A volunteer group whose ministry is to care for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the parish. Altar Guild members prepare the sanctuary for services, and clean up afterwards. Altar Guild members frequently supervise the decoration of the sanctuary of the parish with flowers.

O God of beauty, love and peace; make us thankful for the privilege of adding beauty to your sanctuary, growing in love through  service to you, and gaining peace from your presence; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

Lector

When you stand at the lectern on Sunday morning, you give voice to ancient words that heal, strengthen, encourage, proclaim and exhort. In a very real sense you do what the prophets once did — you, in the tradition of John the Baptist, help to prepare the way for the Lord.

Loving God,

Be with me as I prepare to proclaim the marvel of your words.I have prepared my reading. I have tried to take within me the meaning of what I am about to read:
help me, I ask, to read not just with my lips
but with my whole heart and soul.

Free me of excessive concern over my performance in this sacred action.Turn all my apprehensions into an energy for proclaiming your word with love & joy.

May your holy words fill me and those who hear them that we might be transformed. Amen.

Coffee Hour

“At its best, a church coffee hour is a venue for the Holy Spirit to work.” Those who host coffee hour offer the gift of hospitality while serving fellow parishioners and guests.Showcasing fabulous“goodies”, preparing coffee, setting serving tables and welcoming guests, this important ministry serves as the heart of our Sunday fellowship experience.

Edgewood Pawtuxet Ecumenical Food Closet

Our volunteers are the secret to our success!! Volunteers sort and store food as it is received, and dispense it to recipients. They also validate recipients’ eligibility.  Volunteers may also pick up donated food on a regular basis from markets, other donors, and food drives. Supporters help promote food drives and donations through clubs and organizations.
